Fort Cove Utah

Today we left Henderson, Nevada at 10:30 and arrived in Sandy, Utah at 6:30 (Utah time). We will miss our family in Nevada.   We don’t get to see them as often as we’d like.  We wish Jenni and her family in Oregon and our children in Nevada lived closer to us, but, we love going to see them.  It’s a fun reunion.  We are so grateful for our children in California – they live close to us and it is fun!

It was a beautiful drive.  We enjoy road trips and especially seeing new scenery. 

We stopped at Fort Cove Utah.

which is an LDS Church Historical site.  It was built by the grandfather of President Hinckley.  In those days (around the late 1800s) the post office and the telegraph office needed protection from the indians.  Therefore, Leroy Hinckley was asked to come out to Cove, Utah and build a fort.  The plaque shows the names of all of the people who worked on the fort.  Anyway, we stopped and went on a tour of the fort, the home of Leroy and the surrounding area.  It was interesting.
