At 8:30 Roger Cobabe came over and helped us shut down our home. He was so helpful and gave us ideas about what to do and what not to do when getting your home ready to be locked up tight for awhile. We have a super alarm system and our two sons, Mike and Bryan, who will be taking care of the house. Roy has worked very hard on the yard and it is beautiful! Hopefully it will be in good shape when we get home
. We left at 10:45 and got into Bakersfield at 4:45. (We took our time traveling 
). Diane and Chris Elmer lent us a book on tape entitled the Great and the Terrible. It is really good and helps the miles to go by quickly. Thanks so much Elmers!!! We are staying at the Holiday Inn tonight. Had dinner at Hometown Buffet. 
Our son Bryan would be jealous. He and I are the only two in the family who really enjoy buffets. We will be heading out tomorrow for Henderson where our sons Dan and David live with their families (six of our grandchildren). We enjoy visiting with our “Nevada Families”. Five boys and one girl. We try to see at least one of their baseball practices and at least one of Marianne’s dance classes. We love cheering them on.
