Yep, my car has problems. Her back passenger tire has a huge nail in it. I took her into Nissan after I left the office today and they fixed her all up. She is such a good car I hate to see her ‘suffer’. (Are you crying yet?). Elder Boehrer stayed at the apartment today. He has been burning the candle at both ends and needed to just take some rest time and get his body back in working condition. When I got home tonight he was looking much better and ready to go to the Zone Conference tomorrow. It is in W. Virginia, which means we will be on the road for approximately 80 minutes – one way. I am excited to see another area of W. Virginia. It is a beautiful state.
My beautiful car is ‘limping’
We had another great lunch at the Zone Conference today. The sisters from the Relief Society in the Frederick Ward, (the four ladies in the picture) prepared an awesome lunch. We were also served by the Relief Society yesterday from the Annapolis Ward. We had chicken, twice baked potatoes, rolls and two kinds of salad. NOTE: The Relief Society is a women’s organization in the church which “was established to help prepare daughters of God for the blessings of eternal life. The purposes of Relief Society are to cinrease faith and personal righteousnes, strengthen families and homes, and provide relief by seeking out and helping those in need.” The women in the church, 18 years and up, attend Relief Society every Sunday as part of the three hour block of church. The sisters put Herseys kisses on the tables. We thought the missionaries would eat those up right away, but my gosh, there were tons left over. Therefore, us Senior Missionarys went around and got a cup full to take home for our dessert. Nice.

We had much discussion at this Zone Conference. Since this was a different two zones from yesterday, President Bellison gave some of the same counsel, but also added other information. He again stated that our church would be in the spotlight because of Mitt Romney and his religion. The church is prepared for that, but we as missionarys need to be prepared also. There will be many questions and scrutiny. The Lord has told us that “He would hasten his work in due time and the church would come out of obscurity.” It is happening. When you believe in something it is easy to express that belief, but when you are tying to teach someone what you believe, you have to have the answers for the questions you will be asked. In the end, your testimony is the best teacher. Those with faith will accept quicker than those who need to have everything proven to them. Prayer is a powerful thing.
