Today Elder Boehrer and I left at 10:30 to go to an area called Glen Burnie, which is about 30 minutes from our apartment. He needed to scout out some apartments for incoming missionaries.  After driving through Glen Burnie and getting the lay of the land, we got back on the freeway and ended up in Inner Harbor, which is in Baltimore which is about 15 minutes from our home.  We ended up in front of the Orioles Stadium.

It was a mad house.  There was a 1:00 game and people were everywhere.  It was kind of exciting to see that area and we wanted to stop and see the Cal Ripken Museum (by the way, Highway 695 which runs right through our area is called the Cal Ripken Freeway).  Anyway, it was so crowded and parking was just plain unavailable, and Elder Boehrer’s hip was giving him grief, so we headed for the apartment.  There is so much to see.  Every area we go to has some type of historical site.  Inner Harbour has a massive battle ship that we plan on going back to and taking a tour – sorry, I can’t remember the name of it.

This evening about 4:30 the Clausens and the Gibbons (two senior missionary couples) came over and we went to dinner at the Windsor Mill.  I don’t know if anyone remembers, but our first Friday night here we went to the Windor Mill restaurant with the Gibbons, and President and Sister Belliston.  It has out of this world food and it is served in massive amounts.  The food we took home last time fed us for two more days – seriously.  Well, it was the same thing tonight.  Unbelievable.  We had such a good time.  It was fun to laugh and just enjoy the company of friends.  Elder Clausen is a kick.  He loves to talk and loves being with people.  (As you can see in the pictures).

After dinner we just hung out at the apartment and talked and laughed.  Kinda got ridiculous – but hey, sometimes just have to kick back and enjoy the moment. And, no, we weren’t drinking anything stronger than water – really.

Next week the Star Spangled Bi-Centennial will be held in Inner Harbour Baltimore.  On Friday Elder Boehrer and I and some other Senior Missionary  plan on attending the celebrations.  It is planned that the tall ships will enter the harbor in front of Fort McHenry and the Blue Angels will fly over the Fort.  It is a big deal and people come from all over to see these beautiful old time ships -  just like the ones that entered the Harbour when Francis Scott Key penned the Star Spangled Banner.  There will be a billion people and it might be hot, so as an alternative we may all go to Gettysburg.  Just depends on the weather.
