Claudia and Jackson Bryan Boehrer
As I have said before, when you serve a mission you leave behind family and friends, which includes births, baseball games, first tooth, first steps, etc. So, it is wonderful when one of my dearest friends is able to see my newest grandson and give him a big smile. That is why I have included this picture of my friend Claudia Shirley. I know how much she loves children and it makes me feel good that she is able to love on Jackson Bryan kinda like doing it in my place. Thanks Claudia.
We had a deaf Sister who has completed her mission and gone home. She had a copy of the Book of Mormon in braille and she had it sent to the mission office. It consists of six huge binders, all written in braille! It was unbelievable. You have to realize that the Book of Mormon is over 500 pages, therefore, in order to fit in all of the wording they had to use six binders. And, the cost to the recipient was only $3.50. Wow! The church has copies of the Book of Mormon, The Old and New Testament (bible), and the Doctrine and Covenants in many languages. Our church is worldwide with over 14 million members and it is one of the fastest growing churches in the world, therefore, we need to be sure that everyone can read the scriptures in their language and to be able to share them with their friends. The scriptures are the word of God and we all need His guidance.
