A Proud Big Brother
Well today was the last day of the Leadership Conference. I got some more pictures, trying to show you how many were there. It was a sea of black suits and backpacks. We not only had the conference, but we also had a great lunch. It was homemade taco salad, sour cream, and chips, with three different kinds of cookies. The Elders went nuts. When lunch was ready it kind of reminded me of our home when we had people over for dinner. The ladies went first. That's how it is in the Baltimore Maryland Mission. Here is all of these 'starving' Elders and they have to wait for the Senior Missionaries and THEN the sisters. They were very patient, but when it was their turn it was an orderly free for all.
Because Elder Boehrer and Elder Gibbons are in charge of the vehicles in the mission, (these are the vehicles that the Elders and Sisters drive around), they had to take some of the vehicles to be repaired at Firestone and Macco. Therefore, Sister Gibbons and I went also. It was a beautiful ride. My pictures do not do it justice.
We also needed to find furniture for the new Senior Missionary couple who will be arriving the end of next week. They have been in the MTC this week. They are being trained in Member Support, which means that they support and help the inactive members and also the members of the ward they are assigned to. It can be interesting and you meet many new members, but it has it challenges. We enjoy what we are doing. Even though I have worked in an office for years I enjoy it and we get to see the young Elders everyday - that is the best part.
At the end of the conference we all got together for a picture. It doesn’t matter what age boys are, they are always boys.
Back to furniture, we went to Goodwill and a place called Ollies which sells inexpensive furniture and anything else you can think of. Kind of like a bigger version of Goodwill. This is something that Elder Boehrer will be in charge of while working in the office. He will also be in charge of inspecting the Elder’s apartments. I think he will become their good friend.
An update on our new grandson, Jackson: Monica and Jackson came home today from the hospital and of course, Cali had to hold him the whole time.
We love ALL of our grandchildren!
