We have another new senior couple in our mission – The Mortensons. They are here from Utah and have served two service missions. NOTE: A service mission is when you have the opportunity to serve from your home or still live in your home while serving daily at another location, i.e., such as serving in the genealogical library, or in a mission office or by doing missionary work in another ward by visiting members and non-members. There are many ways to serve. A service mission is not as expensive as a mission where you live away from home. It just depends on what works best for you and your companion. The Elder Mortenson is seventy-nine and Sister Mortenson is seventy-six. And, they will be living in an apartment that has three flights of stairs. Thus! you can be any age and still serve the Lord by serving a mission. An awesome couple.
Just want to ask, how many people can say that they got a Christmas Card from the First Presidency of the Church! We felt kinda’ privileged, even though every missionary in our mission got one, it still makes you feel special just to know that you were one of them.
