Elder Paul E. Koelliker of the Seventy
Today was preparation day for the conference with Elder Koelliker, a member of the Seventy. Elder Koelliker and his wife are here to visit with our mission. During their stay, Elder Koelliker will meet with all of the Zone Leaders and then we will have a group meeting with three zones – Frederick; Martinsburg; Winchester. We have been planning this for a while. Elder Boehrer and I, along with the Assistants to the President and the zone leaders, and the Jones, will be at the Frederick Stake Center tomorrow morning at 7:15, which means we have to leave the house by 6:45. An early day.
Tonight we had the privilege of eating dinner at the president’s home with Elder and Sister Koelliker; the APs; the Jones; and President and Sister Richards. I can’t even explain the feeling that we had at that dinner table. Eating at the same table as a member of the seventy who has spoken in our General Conferences and is a great leader, maybe some of you have done that before, but we never have. As we ate and visited we learned so much about the Church and what it takes to take care of all that is needed. The spirit at the table was so strong. I LOVE Sister Koelliker. What a sweet, kind, little lady. They have seven children and they all live near the Koelliker’s in Salt Lake City. Wow! For those of you senior’s thinking about serving a mission, yes,the experiences you will have only happen while you are serving. It is something you will never forget. Just consider it .
I tried to get some pictures, but it was difficult – too much going on.
