Well, this is our second Monday. We sure feel a little bit better about finding our way around. I remember last Monday, we were so lost when it came to finding ANYTHING. Ahh, yes, it is getting better.
One of my biggest worries was that I wouldn’t be able to find someone to do my hair as good as my hairdresser in California, Cindy Austin. I found one! Melissa works at The Cutlery and she is fantastic. Of course, not as good as Cindy but second is fine. Melissa cut and colored my hair and she is great. I am so glad that I got that out of the way. Of course, Elder Boehrer would like my hair to be parted in the middle and down my back. You know, like in the 70s – right.
We also found a great doctor for Elder Boehrer. (I hope when I get home I remember to call Roy by his first name. . .) Anyways, Elder Boehrer went to a cardiologist who did a great job of making sure he was healthy and got him set up at a Coumadin Clinic. As long as his tests come back showing that his blood is at the right level, he only has to go to the clinic every six weeks. That is a big worry off our shoulders.
We also looked at a furniture store tonight. Elder Boehrer is looking for furniture for the new Senior Missionary’s apartment. They are arriving on Wednesday. We also found out today that another set of Senior Missionaries will be arriving in about two weeks. That is great news. The church is in dire need of Senior Missionaries and it looks like prayers are answered.
We left at 7:30 this morning and got home at 7:00 tonight. Long days. Tomorrow we will be attending another training conference for the younger missionaries. This one starts at 8:30 and ends about 4:00. We need to leave by 6:30 in the morning. I remember when we first left for the mission our son Danny, teased us by saying that we had to get used to getting up at 6:30 like he and his siblings did when they served their missions. I thought he was kidding – nope. The only day we have ‘slept-in’ since we got here was our first Saturday and we thought that would be normal.
Once a week the young missionaries get a “P” (Preparation) Day. It is fun to see how relaxed the missionaries are when they come in casual. They also get to read their emails from home and send emails. P Days are exciting days for them!
