Boy, I picked a good day to stay home from the mission office. I was feeling pretty wiped out. I think I went back to the everyday work week too soon. Yesterday I barely made it through the day. Anyway, the reason I ‘picked’ a good day, is because Elder Boehrer left at 7:30 this morning and got back at 8:30 tonight!! Yep, 13 hour day. Haven’t worked one of those for a few years. . . Part of Elder Boehrer’s duties at the Mission Office is to find apartments for the new missionaries. Since we have a new set of Senior Missionaries coming in next week, time was getting short. Therefore, Elder Boehrer and Elder and Sister Gibbons were gone most of the day looking for apartments and getting furniture, etc. They ended up finding a great apartment and the best furniture for the money. They had to go to the storage house and get what they could use; then go and pick up furniture from a kind lady who had Lazy-Boy furniture for a very good price. Again, glad I wasn’t there. That was a loooonnnggg day. Elder Boehrer was happy because he has been worrying about where this Senior couple was going to live and after having just arrived in the mission field, we know how important it is to have a furnished apartment ready for you when you arrive.
Tomorrow will be very busy, but we are looking forward to it. We will be going to the Visitor’s Center at the Washington DC temple. Elder Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will be speaking. NOTE: The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are twelve priesthood holders who have been chosen through revelation to work with the Prophet, who at this time is President Thomas S. Monson. Can’t wait.
