We started our day at 6:30 and got home at 7:00. Yep, another long day.
Today was spent in the getting an apartment ready for the Mickelsons. They are our newest Senior Missionary couple. This will be their third mission. They’ve been to India and Salt Lake. WoW! We started the day by going to Ollie’s (a Goodwill type store). Bought brooms, lamps, crockpot, dishes, and pans. Then Elder Boehrer and Elder Gibbons went to a warehouse store and bought a dinette set, coffee table, end tables and mattress and box springs. You get the idea. . .The church wants our Senior Missionaries to feel comfortable when they move in. I appreciate that. We enjoy where we are. It is comfortable and safe. That’s what matters.
I want to say, to those of you Senior couples who are considering serving a mission. It will bring more blessings than can ever imagine. Yes, it is an adventure, and you will meet people whom you will never forget and see parts of this earth that you might not have seen before. But, realize, it is a sacrifice. You work hard. You learn continually. You still have life’s challenges such as health. The sacrifice is worth it, but it is not always smooth sailing. In fact, that is exactly why a mission is one of the greatest blessings you will ever receive. My thought for the day
