Elder Hess, Elder Rose and Elder Holmes
Elder Rose is trying to stretch so he looks as tall as the other two. I don’t think it is working . . .
Because mission president’s are so busy and unable to be everyone all of the time, they need assistants to help be the eyes and ears of the mission. President Richards is so busy and usually a mission president has two assistants, but he has three. I wouldn’t be surprised if more mission presidents had more than one assistant. They are invaluable. An assistant is an Elder who has show an ability to lead others not only by his example but by the ability he has to follow the rules, to help others, to understand what it means to be serving the Lord. Our assistants are busy all the time and they love it! In fact they love it so much they don’t want to go home. Another reason Elder Boehrer and I enjoy the mission office so much is because we can associate with not only the President and the other missionaries, but also the assistants. It is so fulfilling to see two (or three) young men grow through leadership and spirituality. President Richards really uses his assistants – they are very busy!!!!
