Last night we went to dinner with President and Sister Bellistan. They took us to a fantastic restaurant which served all the salad you could eat, french bread and tons of butter (my family knows how important that is to me), then we each ordered an entrée. I ordered chicken fettuccini.
I have NEVER tasted better. Roy ordered chicken and ribs.
The Bellistans ordered ribs, and the Gibbons (they came too)
ordered trout and chicken. Oh my gosh, there was enough food for each of us to have lunch and dinner, again. I had to take a picture of our food. Unbelievable. My understanding is that the fish in Maryland is out of this world. I’ll have to try that next. We had a great time. It was fun to visit and to learn about what each of us have been doing in our lives. Of course, our family is the best … just kidding.
This afternoon we attended a baptism at our ‘new’ ward which is called the Inner Harbor Ward. While there we met the young Elders (19-21 year old young men who are serving two year missions) who are assigned to our ward. Their names are Elder Young (on the left) and Elder Mace (on the right). Sister Robinson is the lady in the middle. She is now the only member of her family. All of her children have passed away and I believe she lives alone. What a brave lady. We truly enjoyed visiting with her. When you are born into a family of church members you sometimes don’t realize how hard it is to be the only member in your family. We took a picture with her also because her baptism is the first one we attended in our ward.
The members are awesome. A group of ladies invited me to come with them on May 12th to see some victorian homes in some area where I have already forgotten the name. I love that kind of stuff. Hope I can go. Our ward is a very diverse ward with many different people and personalities.
Tomorrow our church starts at 10:00. After the meeting they have what is called “Linger Longer”. I guess any who want to stay and visit can do so. Anyone who wishes brings a snack. We stopped at Food King and bought a lemon cake. . . Of course, we’ll be there. Anything with food and people sounds good to us. We are very excited to get to know everyone and to help in any way we can.
