Roy and I were picked up from the emergency room early this morning about 1:30. The MTC Van and driver came with a wheel chair and got Roy in the van and we took off for ‘home’ (MTC home ) Roy has or had a viral infection. He is much better but the staff at the MTC feels that we both should take a day off and just rest and study. We really needed it! We both feel so guilty just staying in the room while others are busy studying and attending classes. We miss the companionship of our friends, but we do need to rest. It is sometimes hard to rely on the help of others, but it not only helps us but it gives us the chance to serve each other. We even have friends that are delivering our meals. Hey, I may extend this ‘sick’ stuff a little longer . . . It’s been a long couple of days for both of us.
Glad it’s over and tomorrow we start up again with the purpose we came here for – to be Missionaries.
The office in Baltimore called yesterday and gave us our new address. We will be in an apartment in Gwynn Oaks, MD. It is a beautiful area and because of all the trees, it kind of reminds us of Lake Tahoe. I will have to remind myself of that when we get a Maryland hot and humid day . The mission office that we will be working in is located in Ellicott City, MD. It will take a while for us to find our way around and by the time we leave it will be almost as familiar to us as Citrus Heights.
My beverage of choice. That’s something you can count on in Utah, there’s plenty of caffeine free diet coke. Sometimes it’s hard to find in California. So, Kristen H., you can move to Utah and have all the caffeine free soda you want!
Oh yeah, we have seen David Archuleta quite a few times. One of the Senior Missionaries asked him to come to their table and visit and he did. I wasn’t around – darn it! Nice young man. Very short; so hard to spot, but always has friends around him.
