Friday - At Last!!!

My gosh, what a busy week.  Monday I tried to get caught up from transfers last week NOTE:  Transfers are when the missionaries change companions (as needed), which means that they also move from one apartment to another.  This also includes arrivals of new missionaries and departures of those going home.  So, after trying to catch up on Monday, we had Zone Conference all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Don’t get me wrong, it was very interesting, and we learned a lot, but it took up the whole day, leaving no time to continue to get caught up at the Mission Office.  Finally, today I was able to get some stuff done that has been sitting at my desk for a while.

I am the secretary to the Mission President, which means if it involves the President, “the buck stops here” – kind of.  NOTE:  I feel I need to explain that the reason I am the secretary to the President is not because I passed a test or interviewed or anything of that nature.  It is because when Elder Boehrer and I were called to serve in the Maryland-Baltimore Mission, President Belliston felt inspired to have me be the secretary.  He had never met me before nor did he have prior knowledge of my work.  He wanted me there because he felt it was where I would do the best job for the mission.  It is called “Inspiration”.  In the church we aren’t paid for our service.  The payment is blessings and the knowledge that you are doing a service for the church and therefore, for your Heavenly Father.  The reason we are here is to serve.   As I said before President and Sister Belliston will be leaving at the end of this month and a new President will be coming in.  President and Sister Richards will be here June 29th.  President Richards called on the phone today and talked about some things he needed sent to him and scheduled a meeting, etc.  He is very easy to talk with and I think we will have a great understanding of each other.  I texted my previous boss at San Juan Unified School District Technology Department, Oz Galarza.  I told him that I was going to be the President’s secretary and that my new boss reminded me of him.  I will always be grateful to Oz for the chances he gave me as an administrative assistant.  I truly enjoyed working for him.  Not that is was easy.  Gosh, talk about a task master!!!   Sorry Oz.Rolling on the floor laughing

Elder Boehrer and I are just relaxing tonight and going to watch a DVD.  Wow, we haven’t done that in a while.  More tomorrow . . .
