Today started out at 7:00 a.m. going on apartment checks. NOTE: Apartment checks are when the missionaries get their apartments checked for cleanliness, any problems, any needs, etc. We got done by noon. The checks went well, but there is a problem with mold. In Maryland especially during the summer months, you have to be aware of mold. It can become rampant and is not something you want to breathe in everyday. I recommended X-14 which is a great mold and mildew killer. Elder Boehrer explained to the missionaries that when they are done with their showers, they need to open a window, wipe down the moisture and keep their shower stalls clean.
We are getting two Visa Waiters in our mission next week. NOTE: A Visa Waiter is a missionary who is assigned to a foreign country but who has not yet received their Visa to go to that country. Until the visa waiters get their visas, they will serve in our mission. One of them is a sister who is assigned to Brazil and the other is an elder who is assigned to Mexico. The Church doesn’t want the visa waiters to just wait around doing nothing, therefore, they send them to other missions until they can go to their assigned country. We are looking forward to having them serve in our mission.
The mission is going to receive a total of thirty-five new vehicles. We picked up nine today at the dealers and dropped them off at a place that will put bike hitches on them. Then on Friday after they are picked up (by us and other missionaries) we will take them to a place that will put Tiwis in them. NOTE: A tiwi is a device that is put in the missionaries' vehicle to monitor their speed and how far they drive. It is a pilot program developed by the Church to see if it helps keep the missionaries safe.
We have a lot going on – as usual.
We do LOVE our service.
