Home!

It is great to be home!!!! We love our family and can’t wait for our family reunion during the week of July 4th!!!!   We meet with the Stake President Wednesday at 3:00 to be released.  We are excited and apprehensive because we have never been released from a mission. Laughing out loud

This is what greeted us when we drove up – minus Mike’s family because they had dance practice, BUT they came shortly after this was taken.  We sat around and visited for a while – LOVED IT.

We have a lot up packing to do . . .

So we are driving home today and decided that we should stop in Wells, Nevada for a break.  As we pulled into the parking space a man came up to the right side of our car and motioned that we were over too far (or, so we thought).  Elder Boehrer said “What is wrong with my parking?”  The guy said you are fine but you are riding on an almost bald tire on the back passenger side.  Elder Boehrer got out and looked and sure enough that tire was very worn, which is surprising because we just had the car into the dealer for normal maintenance.  Anyway, come to find out that the tire could have blown at any time.  WoW!!  Because we have an all wheel drive vehicle, we had to get all four tires replaced.  It was needed and we are very, very grateful that we were being watched over.  Whew I don't know smile

`The pageant was over around 11:00 and by the time we got to bed it was 12:00, then church was at 9:00.  Needless to say, we were all quite exhausted.  Dan and Tomica’ ward is in the Manti Tabernacle, which is a

beautiful building.    Church was wonderful – as always.IMG_5738IMG_5739

After Sacrament Meeting an old friend from home came up and said “hi”.  It was Terri Cheshire!  She and her husband, Ken, own a beautiful, huge home in the base of the mountain in Manti.  It could easily be a resort.  She invited us all to her home that afternoon.  While there, the grandchildren and Dan went four wheeling on their property.  Ken and Terri own four wheelers and bikes and have the perfect forty acres to ride on.

A beautiful home – the children had a great time.

The kids were in heaven!IMG_5744IMG_5746IMG_5747IMG_5748IMG_5749IMG_5750IMG_5751IMG_5752IMG_5753IMG_5754IMG_5755IMG_5756

Manti

Our ‘actor’ family – Bryce, Tomica, Tyler & Marianne

(Sorry about the eyes – they don’t really glow Disappointed smile)

IMG_5735

This morning we left my cousin’s home and drove to Manti to spend time with our son Dan and his family.  They moved to Manti in August and live right across the street from the beautiful Manti Temple.IMG_5707  IMG_5708 IMG_5709  IMG_5711All three of our grandchildren, Tyler, Bryce, Marianne, and our daughter in law, Tomica, are in the temple pageant. They  took us on a tour of the city of Manti (about 2 square miles), then we had lunch at a little out of the way family owned restaurant which probably had the best food of any place we have eaten on our whole trip.  IMG_5712Geez.

We also visited a historical site which showed how early settlers lived in Sanpete County

The pageant started at 9:30 in the evening.  Before the pageant there were protestors all over the place.  You know, I don’t understand that.  Yes, they have a right to protest, but what is the point?  We are not bothering them and there are other more important things to protest about (if you feel so inclined).

The protestors.

IMG_5729 Guess we must have something that they are concerned about . . . hummmmm

Enjoying the temple view

Sandy

My cousin Jeanine and I.

IMG_5702staying there, they are the perfect hosts and Larry, her husband, and Elder Boehrer get enjoy just sitting and talking. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, then they took us to the quarry where the stones were cut out of granite for the Salt Lake Temple – years ago. It is located about 30 miles from the temple. It was hard to imagine the men cutting, lifting and getting those tons of granite clear over to the temple site in Salt Lake.

Whew, today we got to my cousin Jeanine’s home in Sandy, Utah.  We enjoy IMG_5693IMG_5694IMG_5699IMG_5695IMG_5696IMG_5697

The canyon is so beautiful!
